getting close to down with my wire tuck bout to start paint... should i go with a base coat clear coat or a ecrylic enamal.

 

a few coats of rustoleum should hold up fine or you can try that duplicolor high heat paint

 

I would do a base coat clear coat urethane. You wont need High temp paint for your engine bay, and the base clear will look much much better than any spray can job... provided your not talking about doing the base/clear with spray cans.

 

base and clear will look good. but keep it clean

 

I'd say base coat and a jamb clear. Jamb clear should be cheaper than an actual clear coat, and it usually comes reduced and ready to spray.
