Is House of the colors the only company that offers Candy Apple Red. I've searched and I havent had any luck

no i there is a cheaper one that looks the same but just not made from Kandy. One of my favorite colors too...if i ever get it ill get the fake one lol. Sorry i couldnt be much help...i dont know the name or who makes it.

 

you could try asking about the PPG Radiance line at your paint supplier.....think they may have a candy apple red

 

thanks. I got my integra in the bodyshop and picking a color is alot harder than i thought. Is this other color a 3 stage paint?

 

A custom paint shop will be able to do a candy paint job. Basically it's just layers upon layers of heavily reduced base coat. Or at least that's the way I know how to do it. A real candy paint job will be kind of expensive and will not be able to be matched if you were ever in an accident. Therefore if you got hit on your right side, the whole side would be painted, because a real candy paint can't be blended.

 

I love the look of the Kandy apple red. But I really think its going to be too much for a daily driver. Does anybody know of a color that is simpler that is a 3 stage at the most.

A candy paint job is a little much for a DD (a real candy job), it's best for a show car that's not gonna be driven getting hit by rocks, or possibly wrecked by some idiot driver. Most reds are a tri-stage paint job, due to the fact that red is hard to achieve coverage. Do some research and find a pearl red tri-stage.

i used to work in the paint shop at the local cadillac dealership and they have a color, the paint code is WA319E i believe. its a very nice color. it is a tri-coat and i never had any problems with it. u might want to look into that.
