my rear bumper is broken badly and i can't get it fixed buz it's made of fiber glass. so i went on to ebay to look for an oem rear bumper for my 00 civic dx hatchback. i saw a lot of rear bumper COVERS but not rear Bumpers are those the same thing? i need a brand new bumper. thanks.

The cover is what you are needing. The rear bumper probably includes the bumper support.

 

my bumper support is also broken.... would the cover also do good for this situation?

 

the bumper its self is the metal bar that bolts the the body

the bumepr cover is the plastic molding that goes around it

there should be foam inbetween the bumper(metal bar) and the bumper cover (plasitc bumper)

but not need jsut there to absorbe some impact

edit : go to the junk yard and get a new bumper and bumper cover if you dont have it
