wrong forum. this belongs In paint and body
but to let you know depending on how high those dimples are, you want the smoothest surface you can possibly get by whatever method you want to use hammer and dolly just hitting it with a hammer. but you would need to grind down the are about 6inches past the damage all the way around mix your mud then lay it on let it dry and use the extra 6icnes as a guide to sand down to desired shape. its really time consuming to get good results if you dont really know what your doing.

sand the dimples down, i prefer fiberglass than traditional bond as of ease to layt compared to plastic epoxy based ****, but its up to you, body work is the easiest thing to do on a car by far

Lol, yeah, its like an art. Its easy to paint if your Van Gogh, and its easy to play guitar if your Van Halen too lol.
Really it just takes practice, so go ahead and try if you feel like it. You can start on an old (or junkyard) fender first and get some confidence that way.

It might be easy to lay "Bondo" on a flat surface, but try it when you are reconstructing a panel with multiple bodylines. There is a technique, and it takes a lot of practice. I've seen a lot of bodymen with 15+ years experience do horrible straightening work. Either you got it, or you don't.
