Yes, after rubbing compound and a buff it looks nice.

What exactly is "rubbing compound?" Is it wax, clay bar, some magical putty?

Rubbing Compound is used in buffing, it has abrasive qualities. It's not a wax, and a clay bar is just that...a bar of clay.

When I get around to it. I just got back from my vacation today. I need to get more paint in too. That will take maybe a week or so, but I finally found the PPG in my town I'm hoping I can just get my paint from them.

The stuff I used is adhesion promoter, I think it's a duplicolor brand though.

I did a ctr grill last week and now its time for the sideskirts. Autozone wouldn't let me buy paint (im nearly 18 but not quite) But I got a guy to buy me some... I just hope I have enough, I could only find 5oz cans of MR paint.

Thanks for the write up ek forever

For just the grill you could get away with possibly one can, but two to be on the safe side.

For the sides I needed about 6 oz each.

Working on the skirts still... they are primed and I'm going out to paint them after posting this. I'm wondering how long to wait for clearcoat after painting them? And how long should I wait to put them back on (should I put them in the garage and let it cure etc) ?? I'm hoping they turn out good

edit: well i free-balled it but I'm happy with how they turned out thanks again ek forever

I guess one of these days I'll add the tag area garnish, I'll post details on removing it along with some more prep/paint info.

Rubbing compound = car polish.

I used a 6" buffing wheel and car polish. It just brings the paint to a glimmer.

I'll post pics once my brother gets back in town with the digicam.

Still holding up great. Been super busy with school. And haven't deemed painting anything else on the car greater than school work. So for the time being school > me
