I'm looking at getting an '11-'12 WRX hatchback. I just sold my '98 2.5RS coupe. I'm daily driving my '09 Fit Sport which is fun, but slow. Over the years I've owned and AutoX'd/tracked my 03 WRX sedan, 05 STi and 06 EVO IX RS. I really regret selling the EVO, but I don't think I will get another. The used market for them right now is depressing.

It seems like you get a lot of performance value in a practical daily driver with the new WRXs. At first I was first thinking a base model might work, but I really like the all weather package of the premium model. New STi is out of my price range. I need to get a test drive in.

Out of curiosity why would you change from the '11 to the '12? Didn't like the Lightning Red? Too many ricers try to race you all the time?

it was BEYOND terrible. every red light, every time i parked ANYWHERE. i hated it.

i originally purchased the red because it was the only non-metallic available and because i thought it was cool.

biggest mistake. lesson learned.
