Hey guys,
I'm working on a Pontiac...i know, not a honda, but it's a customer car. I need a second opinion. She brought the car in looking for a cause and a quote. Customer complained of leaking fuel and it looks to be the injectors; however, all six of the injectors are leaking and i dont have access to the rail without taking stuff apart. To all my full-time Honda-Tech technicians: How often do you see ALLLL six injectors leaking all at the same time? Gears me towards the fuel rail a little more. Let me know your guys' opinions. Thanks!!

In the Pontiac, you have to remove the plenum to view the rail, this literally takes 10 minutes. You remove twelve 10mm bolts from the plenum, two 10mm bolts for the EGR valve, two 7mm bolts for the MAP sensor, two 10mm bolts for the throttle cable, two hoses from the intake tube, loosen the 8mm hose clamp on the intake tube and pull the plenum off.
Once the plenum is off, you can prime the fuel system by turning the key to the ON position with engine off (KOEO). At this point, you'll see where the fuel leak is coming from. The most common leaking area on the GM 3.1/3.4 engine is the AN fitting where the feed line meets the fuel rail itself.
For future reference, post all non-Honda questions in another subforum. The Accord/Prelude forums are probably the last places you'd want to post something like this. There is an "Other Vehicles" section of the forum where some of the more knowledgeable people hang out and even if you posted in GDD, chances are you'd have a better chance of getting a valid answer than you would here. I made a mistake a few minutes ago and accidentally clicked out of GDD which is how I ended up here to answer your question.

It's like a 96 Grand Am, i think. The year, make and model aren't at the top of my priorities yet. I need to diagnose it first.
I don't think anyone as worked on the fuel system before, it's used vehicle so they could have for all i, or the owner knows. No signs of it though.
Yeah, I'm aware about the ease of access to the rail, but i didn't have the time to access it at the time i was looking at it. It was a quick look at. I'm getting the car back this friday. I convinced the customer to give me a couple hours with it so i can give her a complete and 100% correct diagnosis.
Thanks for the feedback guys!
