Very true.. They don't match VDubs. Nice car and nice shots none the less.

The vette wheels look good on older VW's. A newer one needs some more updated wheels.

Agreed! my buddy has 450whp 2004 R32 same color. My dad's old vette had those wheels on it

So what exactly is the difference from a GTI to a R32?

2 extra cylinders and no boost

It's basically a VR6 inside a GTI with AWD and upgraded suspension and I'm assuming brakes as well.

It's a 3.2L VR6 though, as opposed to the regular 2.8L VR6. Makes 250hp and uses haladex awd.

They are kinda slow stock but respond REALLY well to forced induction.

That motor is great for forced induction! I love the exhaust note any vr6 makes!

I think it looks good, and after driving my Dad's stage 2 2010 GTI, I'm really starting to like the idea of a refined "hot hatch". Quiet, tons of options and still plenty fast for a DD.

2.0T GTI is a hell of a fun car to drive at a GREAT price

check this out:

http://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_up...ans_265hp.html

They did a test and a APR chipped GTI with a downpipe and exhaust is just as quick as a R32

The vette wheels aren't bad, but I think you can do better with the newer body style.

I neither like nor dislike VW, but the first pic is absolutely beautiful.

what the others said (3.2 six cylinder + AWD), plus automatic (albeit dual clutch auto) only
it's basically a 3.2L quattro Audi TT in a GTI body

Only 2 pedals = meh for me but it looks nice. The Vette wheels are cliche on V-Dubs and dont really flow on that car IMO

Seriously only 250hp? I actually came in here to admire the R32 but that's pretty difficult when my 11 year old 2.0 liter 4cyl is making that much power without forced induction...

I'd love one for a daily driver/snow trip car but I know how rare and expensive they are.

250hp from a stock 3.2 six cylinder isnt bad. the acura 3.2 tl makes that much. the new R (no longer called the R32) ditches the 3.2L for a 2.0 4 cylinder turbo (also from an Audi TT) which makes 270hp.

i think those corvette sawblades look better on older boxy VWs (they look awesome on boxy E36s). i think C5 or C6 vette wheels would look better.

To be fair, the VW makes torque.

So are s2000s, which is what he is comparing the R32 to in terms of specific output.

If the R32 only made 250hp with a blown 3.2L V6 it would be an even more unimpressive powertrain than it already is.
