Because the crankshaft pulley did not go on all the way, I thought I would back up a couple of steps to what I may have done wrong. I took out the crankshaft bolt, took off the crankshaft pulley, took off the lower timing cover, took off the beveled washer (which was clean towards the engine - curved away from the engine). While picking up some other parts today from the Honda dealership, I talked to a tech who said the pin might not be in right and just wiggle the pulley to get it on. So I took out the pin to examine it. I thought I should get my marks aligned but I neglected to put the pin in before I started adjusting the crankshaft pulley. Now the parts of the crank the house the pin are misaligned. I can’t put the pin back in. Any ideas on how to do it without breaking anything? See attached pictures for reference.


I couldn't get the pulley to fit all the way on. I am not sure if the prior person put the key backwards.
guide washer is beveled side out.
mistakenly started trying to get marks aligned without the key and now the key slots are not aligned.
