Default 2005 Odyssey - Replaced Starter - Now lights are staying on and doors won't open

Yesterday afternoon I went and got in my van to pick my son up from the bus stop. When I turned the key all I heard was a click. When my husband got home from work he thankfully knew it was the starter so he replaced it. It started right up after everything was put back together.

The car is running but here's my issue. I'm hoping someone might be able to share more knowledge than what my husband and I have about this stupid (I say stupid because I swear everything is going wrong with it...we just finished paying almost $2,000 to have the brakes done, rear shocks replaced & replaced the timing belt & water pump) car. Anyway... After starting the car we noticed that the ABS, VSA, BRAKE & CRUISE MAIN lights stay on while driving down the road. AND the electric sliding doors won't open/close unless the car is off. My husband tried taking the battery back out for a few minutes and putting it back in but it didn't help anything.

I'm hoping this is something we can fix at home and not have to spend even more at the dealership. Any ideas are welcome. I know it's an older car (2005 & has 150k miles) and things are going to go wrong but I swear it's all happening at once. Sucks. lol

Thanks in advance.

How did he know this?

What kind of starter did he put in?

I would start the troubleshooting with a voltmeter.

Measure voltage at the battery terminals with the engine off. Suppose to be around 12.5 volts

Measure voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running. Suppose to be somewhere over 13 volts.

Good luck,
Sam
