Team Continental driving school at PIR - 10/10/09
Anyone else going to the TC track day out at PIR on Oct 10th? I'll be out there in the DC and would like to see more H & A cars, I'm usually one of 2 or 3 total.

I missed every TC day this season
If someone wants to pay my fee I'm down
I need to renew my Novice License since I didn't get my race in this year

I'd do it but my GSR won't make it. It needs brakes, axles and an oil cooler at the very least.
I'd probably have to turn the boost down too.

No doubt if the parts would come in in time.
The front pads need to be for a Legend GS and the rears for a DC5. And I only have SS lines for the front. Too much randomness

Bah, I have no boost and still have lots of fun on track. Just turn down the boost, get the brakes working and come out.

I know you don't have to have boost to have fun on track days. It's just that even with my boost turned down as low as possible (7psi wg spring) i'll still generate too much heat for my stock radiator to handle, not to mention i'll need an oil cooler.
I wish I could take it out there, it's just not set up for extended periods of boost.

You guys missed out. The weather was great and the track wasn't crowded at all. There were only 3 run groups, so we did 30 minute sessions x4 = 2 hours of track time.

no you do not need a road racing license. yes it is on PIR's road course.
no worries on the q's, we've all had them at some point.
attend a trackday, once you go to one you will become much more comfortable and from that point on you can become more involved and aware of the different activities available to you and on what level.
have good day

If it's your first track day, the night before they hold a ground school for newbies and for people who just want a refresher. They talk about lines, braking points, physics, etc...just basic car control.
YOur first day you will have an instructor in the pass seat to help you out and make sure you're not doing anything foolish.
If you're trying to get your novice license(first step to getting a comp license), they'll have a sheet to fill out and all that jazz.

Re: Team Continental driving school at PIR - 10/10/09
you can check the webpages
look up
teamcontinental
icscc or cscc
those seem to be affordable, and now there's even register/pay online. also, you can most likely do your tech-inspection at a place they point you to ahead of time. this may help so you don't get there the day of and find out you needed to fix something. i guess it isn't so bad up here in the city but california tracks sucks in the middle of desert and find out tires too worn or something you needed isn't right.
good luck, pm me if you need anythign or want to sign up one day i'm goin too
I'll start looking at the dates...
