exterior metal gates = oil base. u need to use a shellac base then oil base paint over.
interior doors = scrape off any old flaked paint. roll on a light coat of 1-2-3 primer then use a 2.5" brush and apply 2 coats of semi gloss white or whatever color.

exterior metal gates: what if i dont know if it's oil based or not? how do i find out?

interior doors: the paint is not flaking, i just want to repaint it a different color do i need to sand or scrape paint off? this is actually the front door ... i do not want to mess this up lol

anything exterior metal is supposed to be oil based. does it appear to have a deep gloss to it?

if you're going to put a new color you should sand the door lightly with 80-120 grit then apply a light coat of 1-2-3 primer for the new paint to adhere to. for the new color you can roll on a 1/4 section of the door then brush it so it covers faster. then roll on another 1/4 section and work your way down the door. hope this helps

THURSDAY NIGHT BIKE NIGHTS @ CHARLIE CHAN CAFE

It's that time of year again where the weather is looking great and everyone is itching to cruise around the Bay. Like last year, every week we had about 30 - 50+ bikes that come out on Thursday Nights to eat, chill, socialize, and then cruise around the Bay. Everyone is invited to come through.. Let's get it poppin again..

Starting this coming Thursday May 8th, 2008, we will be doing bike night on Thursday Nights instead of Friday nights, due to a large number of requests to change it back to Thursdays.. We now understand that many of you go to clubs and bars on Friday nights, so to try to better accommodate everyone, Charlie Chan Bike night will now be held on THURSDAYS!

When: May 8th, 2008 7:00pm
Where: Charlie Chan Cafe
(Address: 8350 Edes Ave, Oakland, CA)
Why: Because Everyone Itching to Cruise
Who: YOU
What: Gather up, chill, eat, chop it up , go for a cruise

HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE THERE!!!

SYTFU

^ makes me wish I had a bike....

edit: Pwnage chyeaah.

And uhh...since we all live in the same general area, do you guys think it would be a better choice to get a CAI or a Cold air box type intake? I've heard of people hydrolocking, but the gains are better and it's less expensive. I just want some more input before I make a purchase. Thanks!

You'd hydrolock if you're stupid enough to drive into a puddle of water or rain.

I prefer CAI over SRI/Box type because the butt-dyno feels better.

in my previous cars i've always had CAI's and never had a problem with hydrolocking. but thats just me... dont know about anybody else. my custom CAI was sitting pretty low too i remember when i removed it my filter was all smashed up. i was also drivin over puddles etc. no bypass valve either.

^Lol my friend does that. Just stole one of his mom's panty hose and used that to cover the intake pipe after he ripped out his stock air box.

you're paying for the CARB sticker honestly
AEM spends a lot of money making their products emission legal which is reflected on their prices.
