Re: CT GTG EVERY TUESDAY AT TUESDAYS IN SHELTON!!!!
Euro conversions to NHSTA and DOT reglations are very difficult and generally not worth the money. If I get this off the ground, we can discuss what is involved in the compliance of the vehicle and discuss if it is is feasable.
I have been speaking with a couple of importers who specialize in german cars.....and for the most part it is not worth it.
If you keep the burdon of converting/registering the car in the US I wouldn't be opposed. But at this point it seems the only lucrative way of making a buck is by importing Japanese cars with US counterparts, which require minimal modifications to petition the NHSTA for LEGAL registration.
(keep in mind, I am not planning on fraudulently bringing over dissasembled, cars to resemble them in the US. I am exploring bringing complete cars across with all conversions and registration handled CORRECTLY so the buyer is at no risk of having the car repo'd by the DOT)
If you notice many impoted cars come across in pieces and are reassembled in the states, These cars can be registered BUT!!!! These cars are not in compliance with the US clean Air Act and can be confiscated at any time) :0
What's funny is a majority of RHD cars in the US right now have been brought across fraudulently and are at risk of exportion/destruction. :0
I guess no-one learned from Motorex's Mistakes

Re: CT GTG EVERY TUESDAY AT TUESDAYS IN SHELTON!!!!
hey hows it going guys.
I'm new to the hondatech. I'm out of New Haven area and trying to get my car back on the road for this coming season. She's been in the garage for winter.
I'm drive'n a turbo 03 s2000 AP1 with bronze Ce28s. Switching from a Greddy E-manage to the AEM so I'm still working out the kinks with my tuner.
I'm hopping to meet up with some of you guys soon.

Re: CT GTG EVERY TUESDAY AT TUESDAYS IN SHELTON!!!!
theres a few Golf variants over here already, so theres gotta be a way to do it. not sure what they went through to get it done, but they are all registered legally, and driven daily.

Re: CT GTG EVERY TUESDAY AT TUESDAYS IN SHELTON!!!!
It is def possible but VERY costly to do it right.
Ps regardless of whether those cars are reg'd and driving everyday....they might not be 100% compliant. There are many loopholes that will enable you to get a car across and register it in the states, to be driven. (problem lies in the fact that car CAN have its "regi" revoked. If that happens you have 180 days to export or destroy the vehicle.
If you are serious right now. I can put you in touch with a guy who gets in done/ correctly. It prolly wont be cheap (but Im sure a golf would ne much cheaper than these AMG's and M-beamers he usually works with)

Re: CT GTG EVERY TUESDAY AT TUESDAYS IN SHELTON!!!!
NEW SUBJECT - NEED ASSISTANCE *cough* (Dan, Nick) (read thoroughly please)
So been having an ongoing problem of not being able to calibrate my TPS correctly.
I have a BBK TB and no matter how "I twist" the TPS I can not get it to calibrate within spec.
I have tried multiple TPS and the situation was eventually handled by Xenocron making adjustments through my ECU (keep in mind when pulling voltage direct from TPS even when the car was running 100% the tps wasn't showing proper voltage)
So yesterday my "2-step" stopped working (which was set-up through EC-tune using TPS parameters) I first checked the TPS and remembered it was not within spec. I started playing with it (and than remembered the prob. I had).
SO I GUESS MY QUESTION IS - has anyone ever had an OEM TPS on an aftermarket throttle body and not have the "wiggle room" to adjust the TPS within spec???
*ALSO last week I had a Crnk Angle code that came and upon resetting ecu went away forever.
So my second question - Could a dizzy going bad have any effect on the TPS??
Trying to Avoid bringing the car back to Chris (xenocron) to look at.
And yes Danny this is because 2 weeks ago I had mentioned how I was shocked this car has not givin me troubles yet. (JINXD)
