Whats the best HID kit?
going all out, huh? you should either install hid's the proper way with a retrofit or not do it at all. nothing worse than some idiot with hid bulbs in his stock headlights blinding everybody at night. as for a retrofit, it'll cost you somewhere around $800-$1k for a new setup.

If you are paying more than $175 for a hid kit you are blowing money. You can find them now for $60 and they work just fine. Also you can find the hid harness for $20 if you want the hids to get its power from the battery and not from your factory wire harness.

i know the 55w doesnt last as long as the 35 so im waiting for these 55 to go outt hen im gonna put in the 35's i have sitting here.
www.ddmtuning.com, i dont work for them i just suggest them b/c its cheap but key they offer lifetime warranty, cheaper than anyone i see on h-t.com
the way i see it if you are paying 175 or less you are getting some chinese based ballast. so might as well get the cheapest one you can find since its the same anyways, but while you at it might as well get the life time warranty.

Now when it comes to the kelvin number, please don't go higher than 6000. Blue and purple HID's are hideous. Not to mention that the human eye is more sensitive to yellow light, which means the closer you are to a yellow color(I.E. 6000k or less), the more clearly you will see.
I have to completely disagree. I have had HID's that were plug and play that cost me around $135 and never had any problems with them and the light quality was just the same as any other HID that I have seen. If you can get a cheap kit that offers a lifetime warranty, why the hell not?

I had mine for over a year, before I sold the car, and they never died. I have a friend who has had his for 2 years. What proof do you have that they will fail?
Proof? Are you looking for a scientific explanation? That I can't give you. I can give you personal experience. You ever see those guys on the road with one hid and one regular light? I've had 2 kits. One lasted 2 months and the other about a year. I have a e46 bi-xenon kit on one of my cars thats about 5 years old and still burns strong. You can defend your year old HID's all you want but these Plug and Play kits you see all over the sponsors marketplace or wherever are poorly made and are very inexpensive. I wouldn't be surprised if they all came out of the same factory in Taiwan and the cost to make them were no more than $15. There's a whole forum dedicated to just on HID's on hidplanet.com. I suggest you do some research if you really want to know the answer to your question.

Iv seen Plenty of cars that have HID's that dont blind other ppl, when they have them "aimed" correctly.
Aiming the headlight doesn't reduce glare nor does it reduce light scatter. I see drivers with half assed plug and play HID all the time but I don't flash them. It's illegal to do so and POINTLESS to do so.

. did you do the retrofitting yourself?
