Default Simple lighting question

I hooked my boost gauge up and placed it in a pod in my center vent, and for the light, I tapped into an exsisting line for a light next to the vents, but now that light is much brighter, and it doesn't match the other lights on the sides of the vents. When I disconnect my wiring from the boost gauge light, it gets dim to match the others again. What's the explanation for this?

(Sorry if this is confusing, btw. I don't know how to explain it any other way. I'll get a video if necessary)
