rewiring high beam to a low beam switch ...help!!
hi i need help ... i wanna put yellow bulb where my high beams are but i wanna be able to turn on just the high beam by its self without turning on the low beams what do i neeed to rewire?? thanks
Wire in a manual switch on your dash, put it in line with the low beam ground wire. You will then just drive around with your high beams on and toggle your new switch for your white lights and turn off your high beams, back to OEM style low beams.
ok kool thanks im put a yellow bulb on the high beam. but wait im stilll a little confused cuz idk whree the low bean light wire is. Is there any pics you can show me of it...
Tap in out at the light bulb socket, not under the dash. How many wires on the low beam bulb, if there is only two then it does not matter which wire you cut, then run wire (2) into the cabin and attach a manual switch, you are done.
ooo ok so I cut the wire of the blub stocket I think I got it now. so its like this
stock switch
to
new switch
to
low beam
...so when I turn on the high beam on the stock switch I just turn off the low beam with the new switch causing the high beam to stay one...

I'm not sure about in the US, but in canada, all cars must have DRL. DRL is daylight running lights. It basically means that the low beams are on when the car is on. even if the light switch is set to off. With that being said, if the high beams are turned on, the low beams come off automatically. Also, if the car is equipped with fog lights, and they are wired properly, they can be turned on with the low beams, but will automatically come off with the high beams as well.....
I thought it was the same in the USA, but I may be mistaken

oh no i wish the usa model had DRL but the dont. one more question i gotta cut for both light sockets and i joined them to one wire and than to the switch...?
If they are two wire sockets then you must cut both, example, for a two wire socket and both headlights in series, if one bulb burned out, then both would be inop.
When you have a string of xmas lights in series, they are wired with a three wire loom so if one bulb burns out, the rest are still working.
Run four wires to the switch, two power and two ground side. If one bulb goes out then the other one will be in parallel.

ok. each of my lights sockets have two wires each power n ground. so in total its four.wired for both light going to the switch directly or do I join them of make into one power and ground to connect to the new switch and from new switch a wire to stock..
I Don't know if this would help whit this yellow lights but this is the way I'm running my turn signals as DRL as well as turn signals hope it helps.. the layout is for bosch relays with five terminals.
mm thanks i was tryin to read it and figure it out but..didnt really understand it. i dont wanna change the left and right singal lights just wondering how to just have my high beam on only without turning the low beam. And like Duane_in_Japan said i have to cut the wires from the light bulb socket...ok ..... but do i do that for both lights left and right. still tryin to figure out the wiring set up. Ima draw it on paint and see if i can post it on so you can see what i mean.... thanks
Sorry my explaination is not very good, you must cut both lights, one wire each only, run a total of four wires to the manual switch, this switch will turn off the low beams when not needed.
nah its kool man ...ooh okay total of four wires just as i thought. now the will that manuel switch that i have to buy with have four slots to connect the four wires or do i join them to one or two the ground one and tha power ones. still working on the paint desgin..
the wiring mentioned was so you can run your turn signals as DRL but still work as turn signals on top of that the turn signals get hyper mmmm about 120 p/m ... SUGGESTION ... run a relay with that switch so you take the load of the head lights from the switch...
