Question about HID color...
just picked up some hids in the 8k color which is the bluest tint. on my car however they actually look pure white, no blue tint what so ever. my friend has the same kit on his but he actually has the blue tint that 8k is supposed to have.. only difference is i have 96/98 civic lights he has 99/00. was wondering if this makes a difference ?
Well, when the HID bulbs start out they are in the blue tint its supposed to be. then as they warm up they become whiter. is there something that has to do with the power ratings or a fuse maybe ?
My 4300k 85122+'s bulbs do the same thing when they first fire up. Once they get to operating temperature they turn white. That's normal. Like (tilegend) said be glad if you have the lower kelvin bulbs. That means you have more useable light on the ground. The bulbs will actually shift a little in color once they reach a couple hundred hours and they'll turn a little more blue.
PNP hid kits the color is very subjective, my buddy got a kit on his own and it was very strong blue for 8000k, I got him a kit from a different vendor and before it started to color shift it was more a 6000k despite me ordering 8000k for him... the only time I expect the colors to be what they are sapposta be is when it's 4300k or 5000k, past that it's just hopes and good intentions..
