Default need help with lighting issue

i drive a 91 civic sedan. my lighting nightmares are coming back to haunt me again..

heres the situation.

my lights SOMETIMES work fine, perfect. alot of times when ever i hit a bump or like powershift my car, my lights would die out..as if there is a shortage, + wire hitting ground somewhere..

today i was driving back from my cousins house and i gunned my car, then all my lights failed on me, i mean it was sooo dimm that i thought i didnt turn my lights on..

this is how it was dimm from it happening before (no its not city lights)

but tonight, my foglights also went out..and it was plugged to assessories on the fusebox, could that mean my fusebox is bad that it cause my headlights to dim out/short..and my foglights too?!

a year ago, when i got the car, water had leaked onto the driver side under the dash..got the fusebox and all..

its been months that i hardly got any replies for my problem..i need to get it fixed asap.

could it be my car harness?

battery is brand new from jiffy lube. it cants be the battery, everything else works..

oh just to add, when the lights starts to dim out, my car would choke and hesitate to go forward..i'd turn my car off and play with the ignition til my lights come back on, and be able to drive it again..im pretty sure its not the battery.

Sounds like bad grounds, I'd check all your grounds in the headlight area as well as the ones connecting the motor the the car and battery...

I had a 93 caravan that looked like it was having a stroke because of a bad ground, when the headlights were on and if you hit the turn signal the turn lights would light up but not flash and in the process the driverside headlight would go dimm and the wipers would start slowly going back and forth ...... all because I used a ground bolt to bolt down a relay and it was loose....

tho after thinking about it, it may also be something in your dash like ignition or maybe the fuse box... I honestly can't say for sure..

can u explain to me a bad ground? like its loose..or if it isnt connected? the harness that was in the engine that ran the headlights, i did a wire tuck and all the grounds are grounded (the lights were are ready dimming..) that didnt solve it, maybe ground under the dash?.

while this shortage is accuring..i turn my lights on (low beam) my clock would dimm so low that i cant see it..my rpm would go to 0 and jump up and down, my temp would go all the way up..when my lights are off, and i signal, it would again go to 0 and jump, let me think of more symtoms and we'll try to figure this out.

are you using an aftermarket wiring harness for your headlights? if so, make sure it's hooked up correctly. if not, i would get a voltmeter and see if you see correct voltage at your headlight plug. then check your voltage at the fuse box.

i had a friend who had a crx with electrical issues... i can't remember what the source of the problem ended up being...
