Default LED problems.

Hello, I bought and just installed my LEDs (from V-leds.com). I own a 2003 Honda Accord EX-V6 Coupe. I installed the LEDs in the map light and dome light.

When I set both of them to turn on automatically when I open the doors, everything seems fine. But, when i set either one of them off (Not to turn on when the door opens) the OTHER one comes on (it comes on very dimly, not as bright as when they are actually on). They stay on and does not turn off even when i turn off the car and lock the door.

I guess I don't really mind keeping them both set on automatic but then I just keep wondering about what the problem might be and if there is some problem with the electrical circuit or some thing like that.

I'm worried about the possibility that even if they are both set on automatic and it doesn't seem like there is any light, that perhaps it's still using the batter and might eventually kill my battery?

I'll try to take some pictures if later on if that would help.

Thanks guys

I think I understand what you're saying (think, it's still early for me). Basically when you have one light set to turn on when the door opens, it just stays on when you close it. If it's a dimly lit "on", it's generally not a concern. Used to have a map light do that on a Cobalt and just took forever to turn off.

Default Re: LED problems.

we need someone familiar w/ the wiring of your vehicle. the Hondas i'm familiar w/ have 12V routed to the dome light and opening a door provides a ground connection to the other side of the bulb. map lights generally have the same 12V source, but get their ground thru a nearby switch.
the interaction you describe is strange, unless perhaps the wiring has been modified, perhaps to have maps and dome all come on when the door is opened.
which v-led are you using?
