Hid's not fireing
Well I know how you guys don't really approve of plug and play kits but they aren't that bad at 5k and in eg/ej housings, anyways so my friend pulled them out of his car about 3months ago and have just been sitting in the box I drop them in to my car and one of the ballast wont fire properly. It fires and then turns off, the other side on the other hand is fine fires, hums, and then stays on. If I turn the lights on and off like 5-10 times then it will fire and stay on. Is there anything I can do? its a k-light kit btw. -ejoner
try it in another car 1st. my freind with a teg bought a set of plug and play and his car wont even attempt to fire them, but my 96ex has no issue. his brothers accord wont fire them either.
maybe not enough juice on each bulbs since its a seperate hi/low bulb setup.
you may just have issues, just try it on another car first. I've been using 2 plug and play kits for over a year, niehter with a problem
I NEVER would use them in a fluted lense like a stock EG,
96+ its OK though, just re-aim a bit

I have seen PnP HID kits in both 92-95 headlights and 96-00 headlights, and they're both just awful.
As for those cheap ballasts, I wouldn't really know what to do, as it seems they're not really as readily available as are OEM components like Philips or Hella ballasts.

My hid kit is doing the same thing... Ive had mine for over 2 years now and it just started doing it a couple weeks ago on one side. I have to turn mine on and off about 3 times for it to completely warm up and stay on. I would also like to know what the problem is!
PnP kits suck... but you wanna make sure your ballast has a good ground. also double-check any in-line fuses (i assume you're using a wiring harness).
otherwise, you cheap-o ballast has probably taken a deuce.
