Did a search to see if I could get any results on this- but I came up with nothing. I've had this set of HID's in my car since August and have had no problems with them at all. Recently my driver side HID bulb went out while driving- turned the lights off and turned them back on and it came back on with no hesitation. While driving (30min ride) I ended up having to do this 5-6 times just to get to my destination. I tried to look and see if there was anything out of the ordinary wrong w/the setup and everything looks in tact; now the bulb will just flicker and shut off immediately. I've checked the fuse box to make sure the low beam fuse wasn't blown (which they arent). Anybody have a clue as to the next step I should take or what the problem could be?

Probably a wiring issue. Check the connection between the bulb and ballast and power source. Turn the lights on and wiggle the wires around to see if any are loose. Are you running an upgraded harness with a relay or are your ballasts running directly off the stock connection?

yeah, don't power your ballasts off the stock wiring... you need to get a wiring harness that relay's off your stock wiring and pulls power directly from the battery. the harness will also keep your low beams on while the high beams are on. it is bad to turn on/off your lights frequently!!! you have to allow sufficient time for the salts in your ballasts to cool before turning your lights back on.

if it's not your wiring, more than likely your ballast are crap. it sounds like you have a PnP kit, which usually include low-quality ballasts. (usually)

 

Yea i've got a PnP kit; And it is running directly off of my stock wiring harness. Where would you recommend getting a harness that relays power directly from the battery?

you MAY be able to find one on ebay... or you can probably just make one yourself. there are a couple diy/write-ups on this... search. or search HIDplanet.com forums... you'll find what you're looking for.

 

It is probably just a poor quality kit you have there, once the bulbs are lit the lit the power required by the ballasts is less than the stock bulbs would require, so it is either a loose wires or crap components.

 

you may need new ballasts or bulbs. this happened to me awhile back. i had the ballasts with the sarters on the outside so there were 4 boxes instead of 2(ballasts with the starter built inside). i replace one after the other until i just ended up replacing the whole thing. pretty sure it might be your bulbs. when i changed mine, i changed the ballasts and the harness first and it ended up beign the bulds

 

its means ur bulb will probably die soon. samething happened to me, now i only have have 1 HID and i had to put my old bulb back in
