Default Got my HID kit installed on the R1.

I got my HID kit installed finally. This is on a 2004 Yamaha R1. It's from XenithXenons.com

Anyway, it's for the lowbeams and a 8000k set. The high beams are Farenheit super white bulbs which you could see in the other thread how white they are. These HID's make them look stock lol but they are just a pure white. Then the little corner bulbs are LED's from Super Bright LED's. They match the HID's about perfectly. I forgot which ones they were but they are listed in the other LED thread as the ones that look blue.

Anyway, onto the pictures. Hard to get the actual color but these seem pretty decent. These things are white with a bit of blue but not pure blue. They light up the road mostly white or a really light blue. Not quite as blue as I was thinking they would be but they are almost exactly what I wanted. I was afraid they would be too blue. I can't imagine 6000k having much blue at all to them if this is 8000k. I don't think I would have been happy with the 6000k as these aren't really blue but a bit of blue to them just like I wanted.

Showing how I ran the wires through. It had a rubber groumet on the wires so I drilled a hole there and put it in there. I tried to cut a notch out of the headlight part first and that didn't work. I have a slight notch there but it's hard to see in person and you wont see it unless you look specifically for it. Oh well, I should have just done this first and if it looked like crap it would be $5.49 or something like that per side to replace these things from Bikebandit.com. Turns out to look almost perfect to me though so I'm super happy with this.

Ok here is how I put the ballasts. They were hard to fit but squeezed in there. Nothing to really tie them to but I don't think they are going anywhere.
It's not the cleanest thing but you can't see them after putting the windshield back on. Plus this way it's easy to take off if I ever want to.

Back to the other pictures.

Here is the road lit up.

Here it is on the garage door. The top dim light is the bright lights lol. That's how bright these are.

So far I love this kit although I think they need adjusting. The only thing I've noticed is when you turn the high beams on it's like it blinks on and off really quick. So quick you don't really loose light just notice it kind of. It doesn't bother me but I'm afraid it will hurt the HID's so I sent them an email to see what they say about it. I'm not sure if the high beam bulbs being 100watts each have anything to do with it or not. This isn't a issue that bothers me I just want to make sure it doesn't hurt the HID's. I mean it happens so fast you do not lose the light just a fraction of a second and you notice they sort of dim and get bright. You have to be watching for it or you wont notice it. Only does this if your high beams aren't on for a minute or so. If you flip them on and off and on and off it will only do it the first time but if you leave them off then do it 30seconds to 1 minute later it will do it again.

However, I love this kit. Not to sound like I'm advertising for them but you can't beat the price imo. They have them on sale so was only $110 shipped. Well, $112.something as I got shipping insurance. George seems to offer great customer service too. Took a week and a half to get but imo that's pretty fair. He said they got slammed with orders for the new sale.

What do you guys think?
