DIY: Lexus Yellow Capsules on Civic EG
Ive been wondering how Lexus had there foglights so rich in yellow and i've been researching for the past week and found their solution, they use yellow capsules.
I actually didnt use Lexus yellow capsule but used DA's JDM foglight capsules. This DIY is pretty simple, better and way cheaper than retrofitting a whole IS300 foglights into EG foglights. I got the DA's capsule on ebay and the seller i bought it from have couple more set as of yesterday 10/07/09.
The foglights are from my EG four door. First i removed the bulb cause i didnt want them to break and im using H3 PIAA Plasma Ion
Testing fitting, this is what i was wondered about the clearance i have in the housing and it was perfect!
I used Permatex windshield and glass sealer because i was told that contact cement will melt under the temperature in the foglights.
Simply, apply the sealant on the bottom of the capsule and dont add too much cause it will go into any hole. once it cured/dried for an hour you can add more to your desire.
TADA! its 7 at night here in Honolulu so ill mount them as soon as i get home from work tomorrow.

Re: DIY: Lexus Yellow Capsules on Civic EG
ill have pics, Charging camera now... Will do later...
Oah i have yellow housings so it should be okay...
Took out the reflector on mine, a little brighter.Seriously those magnifiers make them sooo much more bright.
I will probably put the reflector back, its counter intuitive because some light leaks upward. So imagine in a foggy night it will make it hard to see and i would have to turn them off... yeah...

Got a problem, when my fog lights are on now, my radio whines a lot T__T do you have that problem? I've always had bad reception but do you have extra problems with the fog lights?
Heres my pics with cheap (almost DEPO but better quality) yellow glass housing fogs
I can get some daytime/night time pix too :S
^^ the last 2 are like duplicates but the top has auto-adjust colors and the bottom one is 'unedited' on some 'night time mode'
Just trying to show the yellow how it is. I am happy with it.
And dont make fun of my dirty garage theres a lot to be missed in there (h22, and motorcycle!!!!)
