Why do the Chinese ballasts break so easily as compared to the German ballasts?

It's All about Supply and Demand, I've been building HID ballast for 8 years and my Conclusion would be that Asia Can Build Low To High Quality its all about who will Spend the Money. So you asked why do Chinese ballast break, well if you want a $100 hid kit than thats what your getting.

Quality Cost- Most people just want the product. They don't care about Quality So this is why you have HID companies producing cheap kits for mass production.

90+% of Ballast internals come from Asia, Even "German Ballast"

I just picked up a set of JDM Honda HID headlights on Ebay for my 2004 Honda Civic Hatchback.
After looking at them, the seller never sent me the wire harnesses for the drivers side headlight and I had to make do with spade connectors for now. Also, after wiring the passenger side up and splicing the wires from my American version car, I noticed that there are I think 4 lights: Turning signal, running light, main light and bright light. I have them all wired wrong and I have no skematic to figure out which one goes where.

Is there anything you can tell me?
Dave

Honda 08 CR-V has DRL...bulb is H4...so it's Lo and Hi/DRL...
But I need a wire harness so that when Lo beam is on, DRL and Hi beam is off...obviously
also when DRL is on Lo and Hi beams are off...also obvious
and When Hi beam is on DRL is off and Lo beam is on(for bixenon retro). Thanks.
and I also mentioned that it's positive switched H4

devani, I have a harness that works with our HID system for H4 Bi-Xenon, However you will loose your DRL lights.

that's fine as long as it works on Lo beam and high beam.

it's retro...so everything's OEM...FX35 projectors, Matsushita Gen 3 ballasts and philips D2S bulbs...

retro on my car is already done...it's my wife's CR-V that needs retro bad....and to make it worse CR-V has DRL and that's the only thing bothering me.

I've got a NEW style Bi-Xenon Projector Retrofit in R&D, I'm going to post up a thread tomorrow to see what interest it Generates. I don't see a problem in working with you on a wiring harness. Thats why we Have a Engineering Department.

Yes, I do have relays. Which car are you talking about that flickers? It might need more than just a relay.

bulb age...

stop turning them on and off rapidly...

doing that significantly reduces the life of a bulb...

Depending on the bulb batch#, It sounds like the gas mixture isn't correct. So has it always done that?
