i was just wondering if it have been done before. i want to convert my dome light in my 98 civic ex to come on when doors open, then fade slowly off when doors are closed/when you lock the door using the key or alarm remote.

if anyone has the schematics or the how to on this topic pls help me out. thanks

Wouldn't the wiring be the same as a 99? I have a 99 Si and it does that. My dome light isn't original. It is out of a 97 Accord. But there isn't anything in the light that controls the fade...

 

yeah i notice that the EM1 has that feature. you think take the whole EM1 dome light wiring will plug n play to a 98 civic ex?

 

It would probably be controlled at the ECU so I doubt just swapping wiring and such would give you that feature if you don't already have it. You do just have a regular light bulb in it and not an LED correct? Because they don't fade normally.

 

yes i have the regular light bulb. i was also told that if i want this feature, all i have to do is slap on a factory EM1 radio. because the dome light is controlled by the factory player. do you have any clue on this?
