Default 80watt ok??

i have an 05 civic sedan and im planning to get xenon 8000k bulbs that are 80W. so i was wondering if that would be too much for the stock ballast to handle. They also have one thats 55W, does that mean it wont be as bright though?

the 2005 Civic has halogen bulbs... not xenon hid bulbs.... (USA...) dunno about Canada or other parts of the world... tho the jdm civic might have hids...

Your civic uses the 9006/9003 two bulb setup.

Those bulbs are not recommended to be replaced with higher wattage bulbs, because the contact surface area is small that it can create a lot of heat - or so i have read

You risk the chance of melting the plug and the harness by swapping in higher wattage bulbs.

The higher the wattage, the greater the draw of amps, and the brighter the halogen bulb... and more heat is created.

Tho you should go check out Philips X-Treme or Sylvania Silverstar ULTRA, since the philips are harder to come by in your size...

sorry i meant xenon halogen, well at least thats wut it says on this site http://www.texonstore.com/serv...etail. so i guess ill go with the 55W. lower wattage doesnt necessarily mean its not as bright right?

If your car uses 9006 bulbs, pick up a pair of HIR 9012's. You won't find a better performing bulb for the price.
