Default 35w V 55w

Hey guys

so i recently "upgraded" to 55w ballasts. The bulbs that came with the kit for some reason did not fit my car. So i had to return them. I am still looking for new ones as the ones that are in there are 35w bulbs. I was told using a 55w ballast would burn them out quicker. anyone have any exp if this is true or not? i only ask because i read somewhere that the 55w bulbs drain more juice and end up being the power of 35 watt bulbs ? doesnt seem true to me though. I can notice a definite difference in the power though. not miles, but enough to warrant the extra 20$.

Also, i tried to adjust the level of the head lights, using the tape the wall, move the car back 25 ft trick and try to match the beams to the wall. I used an allen key to adjust the headlamp adjuster but no mater how many times i spun it, it did not seem to make any movement. Does this mean its time for new housings?

thanks

Dan

50/55 watt on 35 watt bulbs will absolutely shorten the lifespan of the bulbs.

What kind of car? PNP kits (especially the cheap ones) Thrown light/glare everywhere so that may be why your having trouble aiming them.

I have a 50watt kit, but I'm retrofitted so there's a big difference.
