I have about 6k saved up, so I'm not "cheaping out" haha I want a good quality build, I have a pretty well paying job so I can keep up with the maintenance, and I'm not looking to get any insane amounts of hp

Who said you were cheaping out and, big whoop for your friend (to whom you should be asking all your questions instead of posting up on a forum-defies logic). Do what I was doing the very moment you posted this useless and lazy thread and read everything you can get ahold of on the subject of boosting a K-series before you go posting asking for every Tom, Dick, and harry's opinions.
Nobody hahah I was just saying, and I would but a shop did his he knows dick about it, dick. and thats why I made the post, to learn more about it, which I did, hence your links hahahaha
Hey Dick. Go see what's on/in his friggin' car and buy what's on it. Difficult? Not. When you already have a template for exactly what you're asking for right in front of you it makes no sense whatsoever to ignore it and ask strangers all over the world for "advice". Better yet, go talk to the shop that did the install.
Try asking this question in the forced induction forum and people will tell you to do the exact same thing. Read up everything you can, twice, before you even ask. The only time you should be posting up is when you have an actual parts list. At least try to do some footwork.

Let's put it this way. All you've managed to give us in the way of information is a made up budget. No power goals, no usage of the car, nothing. And you expect someone to inform you how?
