Default Thinking About Getting an S2K

Well, as a short intro, my name is Sy and I live in Oregon. I'm thinking about getting an evo X, or getting an S2K and daily driving a WRX.

I came to this site for some assistance, I was wondering peoples input (pros/cons) on both of the cars. I've driven the s2k (has 40k miles, red AP1 2000 s2000) and the Evo X is 2011 with 28k miles. The thing I'm worried about, it will I get bored of an evo x GSR? I've heard they are heavier compared to the older generations, making them less fun to drive. However if I were to get the S2000, I would still have a awd 4d car (wrx). I know the s2000 wouldn't be boring to drive. I've driven the evo x and it was great, but I could see how it might get boring to drive.

I would end up wanting to get around 400-450 hp on the evo. As with the S2K there would be a good chance that I'd end up turbo charging it down the road.

TLDR, give me your opinions on s2000 (and WRX DD) or evo x, if you've driven one, I'd love to know the pros/cons you have had with them.

pros/cons such as maintenance, reliability, cost (parts/insurance), practicality, the list goes on, you get the idea.

I'm not looking for you guys to make the decision for me. I just want some other opinions from people with experience with these 2 cars, so I can really see what other people thought about in the long run with their s2k/evo.

I just bought a 2005 S2000 and might be of help.

As far as maintenance: It's not going to be as easy as a civic. You have to keep up on fluids (diff, tranny, engine), but nothing too crazy. Overall it is still a Honda and pretty ******* bulletproof. Be sure to check out S2ki.com for a list of things to watch out for when getting a used one.

As far as practicality: Not very practical. You don't have room for ****, and if you are the average American size you will probably be cramped as ****. Keep in mind the steering wheel is not adjustable, so if you are bigger than it WILL be in your NUTS while driving. It's also louder then most cars on the freeway and the OEM stereo sucks a big one.

However, it will be easier to maintain and more reliable then an EVO or STI. On top of that, the handling is on a complete different level then those two, which push and feel like pigs in corners.

I was wary about getting one as daily, until I spend some time behind the wheel and quickly forgot about the short comings.

Also no turbo lag

Awesome, thanks for the input. Also take into consideration that I would have a Daily Driver (WRX) and the S2K would be something I only take out on the nice days, or when I want to drive something besides the WRX.

I've driven them both, and so far they are about equal (really wish s2k was turbo'd). The only thing I'm thinking is 2 cars (wrx/s2k) > 1 car (evoX), at least in my situation. I've heard mixed reviews on how reliable an evo X is, and if I were to get it I would eventually mod it to around 400-425 hp. One thing is, I wouldn't use cheap parts, and just try to get a gain of HP while a loss of reliability. I guess it matters on who the owner is and how they take care of it.

Any other input from anyone who has experienced either car would be very appreciated.
