Hey everyone. I'm Jake and I have a 2000 CRV. I tried out crvownersclub forum but its not geared towards what I'm into. That forum seems to be more about what drop in filter gets you better mpg or the newest tech in floor mats. Every time I had an actual tech question I got no response. So I decided to try this place out.

Anyway... My V is a silver EX AWD with a slipping auto trans. The BIG dream, which is financially unobtainable right now, is to do an ITR swap, make it FWD, slammed and much lighter. Only mods for now are a Gates racing timing belt and a home made CAI using aluminum piping and factory ducting.

 

Your torque converter could be going out or you might be low on fluid I would check fluids first.if I where you I would save up the money for a manual transmission swap. Save more fuel with manual

 

Plenty of fluid. I mistakenly changed my trans fluid without knowing prior trans service history. Drain plug was full of crap of what I assume was clutch material. Changed the fluid twice. First with regular ATF and then with Royal Purple Synthetic ATF and Lucas additive. Seems to be holding up ok. I'm just afraid to floor it at higher speeds in fear of one bad aggressive downshift that'll kill it.

I'm not going to invest in a TC. I think when the time comes I'll just get an Integra LS 5 speed and do the conversion.
