Default New here and need help

Hey Im new here and just bought my third Honda. Its a 1992 DX sedan and I apparently spun a bearing. My research (and finances) indicate its cheaper to swap it out myself than take it in for a rebuild. Im looking towards the d16z6 and from what I read I need a P28 ecu? I also have a few questions since its my first self-done swap. (sorry for spacing...on xbox) Will the D16Z6 bolt to the D15B7 tranny? If what I read is right...it should be plug and play with the exception of the ecu and vtec wiring but Im not sure. Any answers and/or advice?

welcome to h-t

yes you will need the obd1 p28 ecu

the b7 tranny will bolt up to the z6, but the b7 tranny sucks

the swap is plug and play, just plug in p28 ecu and run vtec wires

Thanks. I live in Florida and was never a fan of junkyard parts for mechanical and craigslist hates me. I found a complete z6 motor for 895$ but thats going to take ages to save up for. Any ideas where i could look for a cheaper one? As far as the tranny goes I stay in city so i only run 45. a z6 tranny can wait unless i find full assembly

ebay, check the marketplace section on here, and craigslist (even if it does hate you)

you can get a full jdm d15b w/ tranny for around 800, its pretty even if not better then the d16z6, or d15b7's that replace your blown engine go for dirt cheap

just some options for you

yea its 700 for motor and close to 1000 w/ trans on the d15b. cheaper to get a z6 and run b7 trans until i can swap it. i just need it up and running asap. and another d15b7 is bout like dropping a lawnmower engine in it. its got the bwhp of a go-kart and accel of a dying tortoise. z6 is best option unless i luck out on a d15b providing its plug and play as well

yes d15b is pnp

search google for jdm engine importers, theres probably some close to orlando. see what they have in stock and prices- wont hurt to ask

and search the h-t marketplace before ebay or craigslist, many people are parting their cars and ive seen alot of d series engines for sale

even if you just get the engine they usually go for alot less then 700
