jerry here, just joined. My daughter had a 2000 CR-V that I kept running for 350,000 plus miles. I was so impressed I got a new 2011 & it was great till Sept 2017 IRMA put it under water & I learned It could not float. So sad 2011 with 65,000 miles gone with the tide. Also lost my 2002 Mercury Capri with 105,000 miles & 100% original. both insured but Insurance goes by the book. I got enough to buy a 2013 CR-V but it has 85,000 miles on it time will tell. The heart breaker is we had 4 feet of water in our home & my shop. We nearly lost every thing of value plus 55 years of memories. In my shop was a lathe, milling machine, 4 welders, my 60 year collection of tools, manuals, equipment, & a 100% restored 1665 SUNBEAM ALPINE with tons of spares. Did I note we did not have flood insurance we are not in a flood prone area. I have rebuilt the house it is like 90% done, did all the work myself. Today I started in the shop, It's difficult to work with tears in your eyes. I'm 76 & tired but like the house my shop will be better than before, it just will not have as much "STUFF" in it this time. Thank for letting me join your group.
