I introduced myself recently, but here's one more time. My name is Marko and im coming from Croatia. I'm Honda addict since i was a kid, so when the time came for buying a car, a logical choice was a ek.. I needed a economical daily drive, because i travel about 100km/60 miles every day.. So i bought 1.5 ek3 d15z6 with LPG.. That was in june.. Since then, i have about 10k miles with my ek. Car was mess when i bought it, but the price was suitable.. Didnt had much more money at the time..
I drove a car for 2(two!!) day and it stopped 30 miles from home
At the end, i found it was faulty ignition module.. Put the new one.
BUT... Car started to tease me.. It started to run on 3 cillynders and we couldnt understand why.. Long story short- it was a wrong LPG wiring, so the injector signal was loosy.. I spend almost 2 weeks driving like that, from mechanic to mechanic.
Then i needed to sort suspension.. I put the new Ksport LCA, new lower ball joints, sway bar links, new inner and outer tie rods, new filters, new oil, antifreeze, clutch, lambda sensor, front rotors and pads, rear brakes, new motor mounts, water pump, all belts and tensioner, spark plugs etc. I needed to have a reliable DD..
Now im working 2 jobs to recover financaly, and future plans are to do the bodywork and paint the car, replace all bushings, and to swap better brakes.. Maybe swap dc2 front subframe.. In generally, i want to prepare the car for 200-250 hp.. This motor eats about 4 dcl/ 1000km, so its a question of time when i'll be needing a new one :D
But i'll wait spring for that..
Car has a straight exhaust pipe and "Lastovčić"(name from local exhaust manufacturer) rear muffler without db killer, so the sound is awesome(at least to me). Other than that, its completely stock..
Oh yeah, i bought recently a ek4 rear brake swap and ek4 master cylinder.. It will wait for spring for installing..

Sorry to disappoint you but 200-250bhp on a d15 is sumthin far from reality.
Unless ur goin turbo. and there goes your daily.
swap a b16 or a b18 in there. ull have a reliable daily driver.

Plan is to swap k20 or high compression b20 or b18..
Newer (generation) motor vs lpg friendly motor vs high revving friendly :D
This winter we dont have much snow, but last winter it was a disaster, lot of snow... Bodywork started to show signs of years, still, its almost 20 years old.
It has one rust spot in drivers side drain, and paint on rear quarter panels started to swell.. Thats why im going to do a bodywork and change the color.. I really dont like green..
Still, i cant decide whether i should go to facelift, or should i keep non facelift, but with coupe bumper(non moldings).. Color will be probably white..

I bought yesterday ek3 facelift for parts.. Its black, but i'll drive like that to the spring
first idea was to keep non facelift with coupe bumper and ek9 lip, but ek facelift looks like a lot newer and modern car than non facelift.. so i'll go that way..
Day before yesterday came a new member to our house :D
New one vs old one
New one is facelift, she has oem shocks with H&R springs, aluminium rims and d15z6 engine.. I switched some parts yesterday, had cracked taillight, bad boot shocks etc.
Im gonna rebuild and swap the engine after new year.
Going to facelift probably this weekend
Finally facelift... It was cold today, and just when i pulled off all parts, it started to snow.. But i had to finish today, need a car for tommorow..
Not really that rusty..
Im amateur in cars body fitting, so it was really hard to fit all body parts... Im still not happy, but i'll deal with that later...
Not sure if non-facelift comes with "cross- bar" under bumper, or only i dont have it?
Im really happy with that how much rust my car has.. quarter panels started to rust, but other than that, only few spots has rust.. Front facelift bumper is not perfect, it was fitted to lowered car, and its cracked underneath, probably because of height..
Grill is also not perfect, its cracked and its glued to bumper :/
I will buy those 2 parts when i'll have more money :D
Need to swap shafts tommorow, left one started to make "clunk" sound..
I thought these motor eats oil, but never saw blue smoke, even though i have straight pipe(no cat).. But today i convinced myself that some gasket is bad.. After half hour of car sitting, i saw a puddle of oil on the floor.. Not sure if i should be sad or happy :D
Hey guys... Nothing specially new, i replaced a clicking halfshaft today.
Just a few questions.. I want to swap rear disc to my ek3, but i want to paint RTA's first.
Question is: Do i need to remove rear wheel bearing before sandblasting/ will sand destroy wheel bearing, if not removed first?
I know that i probably should put new wheel bearing's, but i dont have that much money right now..
2. question: Why is my car topic moved to "introduction" section, isnt there some "our hondas" section or something like that?
