I have two Hondas that I'd like to keep running strong: a 2002 Accord LX and a 2007 Odyssey,

I'm a mechanical engineer with a focus on internal combustion engines. Very familiar with engine and fuel performance testing. In grad school I even built three fuel injection systems from scratch. I'm a huge fan of Chevron gasoline with Techron.

I joined this site because my Accord has been acting sluggish and using a bit too much oil. A recent compression test showed that #3 cylinder had about half the pressure of the other three cylinders. After I furter isolate the problem with a leakdown test I'd like to learn about what my options are for repair or replacement.

 

Ran the leakdown test on cyl#3: 80% leakage. Ugh! It all seems to be coming through the crank-case. Maybe I'll start a thread.
