Introduction/Budget Build
This is my first time talking on a car forum page, so I guess I'll introduce myself, my name is Ray and since I was little i've been an adrenaline junkie. I started getting into cars when I saw pictures of my dads old muscle cars he built such as his barracuda, and dodge demon, I didn't start learning the technicals side of cars until around 2019, when covid came around I really got invested in cars and started leanring everything I could, reading books watching videos, and going to car meets talking to people about their builds. All I wanted to do was build a car that I could have lots of fun in but also go decently fast in, my grandpas turbo pinto was making 500hp and he let me floor it down a straight road and I knew isntantly what my power goals were, I'm currently selling my 72 plymouth duster with a 318 so I could build a cheaper car.
I wanna build the engine first and saw that hondas engines make decent power cheaper then a 318, I just dont know where to start, I figured if I sell the car plus save up some extra cash I could build a motor that makes around 350 to 400 for under 6500$, I was thinking a b18 or a k-series , but i've also seen some people take the d16z6 and make good power out of it for cheap, not realiably though. I figured I would go in the forced induction route since thats what most people seem to be doing, but i'm not sure what type of motor I should pick out. Anything thats cheap enough to not break the bank but realiable enough to not break down constantly. If anyone can give me advice I would really appreciate it
