Introduce myself - Silverrd1
Hey y'all, I'm a 24 y/o guy in Austin, Tx with a 1998 AWD CR-V. I bought the car about 2 years ago completely stock with 145k on the dash. As of recently, I've had a misfire on my b20b block with low compression (35) on cyl 3. Fun times. As this is my daily driver, I still want to keep the car somewhat stock, with light modifications that won't compromise the reliability as a daily driver. With the need for a new b20 block, I've decided to plunge myself deep into the CR-V world, as well as the B- Series world. I'm still debating on which route I'd like to go with this car, but as of now my priorities are:
1) swap a new B20 block to get back on the road
2) get rid of that god awful faded black bumper and a nicer paint matched SE bumper (they're kinda expensive)
3) get new headlights (aftermarket? OEM?)
I'm leaning towards a VIP type build without the extreme camber, instead of the usual off road type builds I see done with this model CR-V.
Performance-wise I'm wanting to get the car to safely outrun a stock first gen forester STI.
I'm always open to constructive criticism.
