I have a automatic 97 Honda Civic ex I flooded the original engine it was a VTEC D15b it started knocking but it would still shift replaced it with a d16y7 not knowing that VTEC mattered so much my car stopped shifting it drove to my house and back to the garage it was fine on shifting then cut it off and was stuck in park and when I release the lock it won’t shift out of first and the most speed I do is 20 I have a new head on it a d16y8 VTEC Head and still not being able to shift I’ve checked my solenoids nothings wrong with them the non VTEC head ran good up and dowin the road but when I parked it it stayed in parked now I’m just stuck with what to do I’m wondering if the ecu needs to be reset by the Honda dealer or something I need help need my car back to life
