I'm somewhat new to Honda's to be honest I used to hate them then I bought one in a pinch and have loved it ever since.
It wasn't Honda's I didn't like as much as it was the young punks driving them that acted as though there civic with nothing more than a cold air intake and coffee can muffler was the fastest car out there. Any way now I'm a 89 civic si owner and the car is honestly fun to drive compared to the VW jetta's I'm used to.

 

Welcome to the Forum I am new myself. Also, glad you enjoy your civic. I know you always heard those "punk kids" racing them around town. But now you know why. Vtec in a Honda is a different beast then Toyota and so on. Everyone has their own form of Variable valve timing, but Honda makes a statement. Hence where the "Vtec just kicked in yo!"
