New to the forum. Been refencing to this page for years for small projects and ideas. I figured I just give being an active member a try. This last year I finally got a car that I've wanted for a project. For right now I'm not trying to build a track car. I'm just trying to build something fun to drive, and drive on the daily. Then go from there. This is the first time I've been able to have something like this, so I'm pretty excited. Last fall, I get a call from a friend, she says she has a car for sale that she thinks I may be interested in. People are always trying to unload some bullshit on me, especially being at the time I was working for a salvage yard. But, to be nice, I inquire on the car. She tells me it's a civic, and all o can thing is that its going to be some auto 4 door, rusted out trash can. She tells me she has a black 2dr that's a 5spd. She didn't know much else of it. Hearing those three things, I was automatically interested. I get out there, it's a 98 hx. Tinted windows (shitty at home tint job, but tinted), a shitty deck, blown sun and amp, and a power cable to the speakers ran through the door jam. 220k on the clock, $400.00. I take it for a drive, get back, and just hand her the cash. Since then, I've done some maintenance on it. Nothing to fun, but it still needs work to be a respectable car. I swapped out the deck with a nice pioneer with Bluetooth, put a Rockford p3 in it with a 1k mono amp. Just for some beats. Then I put a stage 1 clutch in with a 12lbs flywheel. Replaced the bumper. Shaved the broken antenna. I have a friend with a 93 civic hatch, and he's always wanted a set of hx wheels for. So I gave him my hx wheels in trade for some chea aftermarket wheels (they look good though) and some steel wheels with snow tires (knowing I was going to have to drive it daily). I do love the hx wheels, but I can always buy another set if I really want them. So recently I had an opportunity to buy a motor, tranny, and ecu out of a 99 ex. The price for the lot was cheap, and with almost 100k less miles on my car, I figured it wouldnt be a bad investment. So now the fun really starts. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to contributing and getting some help.
