Hi guys and gals. I recently purchased a 2000 civic dx with a jdm type r swap. On the outside car is in pretty rough shape but that's not the reason I bought it. After test driving it, that gsr gearing had me sold.
I had another 2000 civic ex. Replaced the clutch and cv axles (first time doing that) and sold it. Wife will only allow on project at a time.
After further inspection of the dx I ran into a few bumps. The professional swap was not so professional. I currently have 4 engine codes 6,20,23, and 41 that I am dealing with not to mention the fact that the cooling system is not working as it should. It's a good thing that this isn't my daily cuz I would be sweating bullets otherwise.
As with most dreamers I have big plans and less money. Lol. Right now I just want to get rid of the engine codes and get the thing to where it's reliable. After that it will be saving money for the body shop.
Well since the weather got nice I work on the car a bit. Managed to get rid of the code 6 after changing all 3 sensors. Funny thing is the last sensor I took off a y8 engine sitting on the floor and worked. After all that I was able to verify that the fan is kicking on as it should
Messed around with the o2 sensor and judging by the one from the y8 motor, I think it's bad. Doesn't seem to ohm out the same.
Maybe next weekend I will have time to dig into the code 20 and 23.
