I just inherited my aging mothers '98 Civic EX which is very clean, 112K mi., runs great, but has been sitting for ~6 months and has a rough idle problem. I hope to solve this problem with your help before I am forced to take it to a local shop.

-Suspected aging/stale fuel, 1/2 tank full; I added injector cleaner and topped off with fresh gas. Currently driving daily 10 minutes, twice, to and from work.
-Hooked up a friends computer to it and got a code 505, idle system malfunction.
-I have consumed half this tank so far, with minimal positive results.
-Read through this thread below which is closely related to my problems:

...and plan to check my MAP sensor and clean my IACV as a starting point.

Any high-level insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Okay... I didn't read the rules for new members, blurted out my problem right out of the shute... will try again next week. Hope you all have some insight for me.
