Default Finally decided to join!

Hey guys! Jesse here, only pretty recently became a "car guy" (2020) and in that time I've come across countless posts from this site whenever I needed some help or just general knowledge.
Finally decided to join just to document the progress of my cars and maybe meet some cool people in the meantime!
I know I'm extremely late to the game, but hey, better late than never haha

First off-
My very first car in 2013 was a mint 2003 EX Coupe. At this time I wasnt into cars and just wanted something "sporty" looking to get me to and from work.

Ended up smashing up the front end less than a year later due to my own stupidity lol

Got it fixed by the "I know a guy who can do it cheaper" kind of guy lol. Ended up costing way more and took much longer than it probably would have to have had it done properly.

Still ran great until about 2018 when it started having what I now know were head gasket issues and the notorious auto trans problems.

Car then sat in our driveway until early 2020 when I finally decided to haul it off to the great junkyard in the sky and saved up for something else.

For about 9 months straight I was browsing FB marketplace for any interesting cars that caught my eye. Time and time again I saw different civics that had me interested.

But it wasn't until I saw a 2008 Si Coupe for sale when I had a love at first sight moment.
Messaged the seller and dragged my dad (he knew how to drive stick) to see the car and $7500 later, she was mine!

In the 3 years I owned I learned a lot about cars, especially Honda's!
The was essentially stock aside from a rebuilt transmission when I got it and I did the following:
- 08 to 09 facelift
- RPF1 wheels
- PrecisionWorkz retrofit headlights
- Coilovers
- HFP kit
- Hybrid Racing Intake
- Skunk2 Exhaust and Header
- Hondata + tune
and probably more I'm forgetting

In 2022, I was still living at home with my parents and I so I wanted to take advantage and use my savings to buy a "project" car. So once again I took to FB marketplace to find myself another honda.
This time I was determined to find my 2nd favorite body style, a 6th gen hatchback.
I looked for months and eventually saw a post for a super clean, low mileage, manual 96 DX hatch.
Took one test drive and I knew I needed it BAD lol.
The previous owner bought it from an older woman who had it just sitting in her backyard for years.
It was absolutely immaculate inside and out, aside from hail damage.

Not long after I bought the silver hatch, I reconnected with who is currently my fiancee and planned on moving to Oklahoma from my home in Texas.

The FG2 was my baby so it was the car I made sure came with me, while the fate of the EK was left to be determined.

I figured it would be too much of a pain to have the EK brought 5 hours up to me so I told my dad he could just put the car up for sale and not even a week of being for sale, it went to a new owner.

Now I loved my Si so so so much but the apartments I moved to have an annoyingly steep entrance and I scraped my oil pan every time I left the house and I was driving it less and less, opting for my fiancee's car.
I know I could've raised the car but honestly, raising would've ruined the look I so particularly dialed and so I made the heartbreaking choice to sell the Si.

This decision wasn't easy and especially because shortly after posting it for sale I saw a JDM import EK4 for sale being the Honda nerd I am, I just couldn't pass it up.
It had it's own set of quirks, it was auto, had an acura EL front clip and was a little rough on the outside but it was way below the price of any other EK4's I had seen online.

I maneuvered some plans and managed to plan the sale of my FG2 and the purchase of the EK4 on the same day.

While I was incredibly sad about losing my baby, I was stoked to pick up a RHD civic without having to deal with the hassle of getting one imported myself.

Unbeknownst to me, I was about to face a whole new set of problems.
The seller had never registered or titled it in the US and only had the import and customs documents but he assured me that I would be able to just bring the documents to the tag office and ezpz have it street legal.
The guy had a bunch of sold JDM imports on his account so I figured he could be trusted.
Brought the car to my local registration office here in OK and uh oh! They told me I couldn't title it since all the documents had the previous owner's name so I would need him and his ID to transfer it to me.

Well now I was kind of boned since I sold my car to get this one and I didn't want to risk driving it illegally so I scrounged up some extra cash quickly and took back to good old FB to find something to daily drive while I figured out what my options were for the EK4.

That led me to my current daily/project:

Another 6th gen hatch, this time a manual 97 CX.

Did eventually get the EK4 titled to me (huuuuge shoutout to Joshua Falcon here in Tulsa) and while it definitely still has a LOT that needs to be taken care of, I'm hopeful for the future.
I plan on making threads for the progress of my builds, but as someone who basically lives paycheck to paycheck, progress will be sloooooow lol

Take care honda homies <3
