Element engine vs crv engine!

Element engine vs crv engine!
Hey guys thanks for having me! I need some help from some guys that really know the Honda k24 series!
I have a 2003 Honda elemet with a k24a4 which you guys already knew that! Anyway the engine has a bad piston so I'm replacing the engine. I pulled one from my 03 crv and scrapped the crv. I only kept the engine and not the wiring harness. I was thinking simple drop in. Now the more I research maybe I should have kept the wiring harness. Also the K24a4 also has a EGR valve! My question is am going to drop this engine I there only to realize it not going to hook up?
please let me know what you think and all info given is greatly appreciated!
