Default D16y8 build

Hello there I am curious as to what some of u have done starting a build. I want to make my 98 civic ex fast but I want to do it properly I have a straight up stock d16y8 motor I'm going to rebuild but I want to know what's next and what I will need to get ready for a turbo I have debated on swaping for the h or k series motors but still not sure unless I find the right price I have mostly seen people swap heads and add a ram intake what I've been thing is Pistons and the crank defiantly intake but I'm not sure when it comes to reliability here's a picture of what I got and let me know what u think thanks

The easiest and cheapest way to go would be swapping the motor to a b series but if you want to go extreme a k would be it but I am looking for a d 16 engine so let me kno if you pull it.....

I just pulled my d16y7 it has a blown head according to the mechanic. My timing belt snapped going into 3rd gear. The whole swap is out. Trans and block are good less than 100k miles

Pm if you wanna make an offer

if you want the most power take a d1.7 crank and build a 1.6 stroker motor.
