Im in the same boat ive been looking for about 2 months havent been able to find a hx harness. Ive bought 2 other harnesses from ebay with the description 1999/2000 automatic transmission 1.6 vtec. Both of those wer different and did not work one of them was obd1 with multiple sensor connections being different. And the second harness was missing some important connectors like the ground that goes to the thermostat housing.

do you not have a hx harness at all?? Or is your current one damaged? I have my hx harness but its missing the ground that goes on the thermostat housing (ecu ground) ive been told. It was running and driving without it until one day the tans gave out and after replacing it car will crank but not start. And after diagnostics i found that i was comoletely missing said ground. Ive been told that these are really hard to find and that im better off swapping a y8 head, intake mani, ecu, and y8 harness but even like this there will be some wirring issues or potential check engine lights.

well the one i had was damaged most of the wires were cut. I tried to splice some wires from my y7 with the y5 but nothing. but now i found one i used a harness for a 96 ex it has a y8 in it but it worked for my y5. so right now im running with the y8 harness and ecu. but i do think it is running a little lean because the egr im not using but found out that i could use the intake manifold from the same year and it will run better.
