Default 1989 crx si burnt gauge cluster ribbon/wire

Working on a 89 crx . Lights flash/dim out when turn signal is on or switch to high beams. . I noticed a small burn spot on the ribbon or wire on back of the guage cluster . . Could this be a possible cause of my problems. .

Yeah that seems to be a short of some sort. I would look at how that wire loom sat in place and it's surroundings to see if there's a way that wire loom would be harmed. I would, that is if you know how to repair it, cut the wire and remove the damaged section and reconnect this back. Put a little extra tape around the previously damaged area to prevent the problem again in the future. Unless you can find the source of that issue, that's what I would suggest.
