2010 Honda Insight CVT Pan Gasket
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a second hand Insight from 2010 and wanted to give it some maintenance, as I wasn't sure when a lot of stuff was done last. Since it's at 190 000 km, I also wanted to replace the strainer in the CVT pan, as I've read on several forums that this can be beneficial. However, after I pulled the pan, I noticed that the company where I got the new strainer and gasket sent something that isn't compatible at all. I was hoping to get this all done over the weekend, but with the old gasket broken and the new one incompatible, I'm in a bit of a bind. They seem to be hard to get here as well (Honda dealer told me they don't have them, as that filter doesn't need replacing according to them). Does anyone know what kind of liquid gasket (if any) I could use? Then at least I can put everything back together and drive it with the old filter. I can just replace the filter then in 30k when I replace the fluid again.
I have some loctite 5910, but I'm not sure if it will hold, as pressure can get pretty high in the CVT (if I understand correctly). I would love to hear if anyone has ever used any liquid gasket/sealant and/or what kind of strength I would need.
