Wiring up a h22a into a 92-95 civic
Ok I have a jdm h22a 1992 srv motor that I am trying to wire into my civic, I have the access of using a
-a civic dx engine wire harness
-a usdm prelude srv engine harness
-a jdm prelude srv engine harness
I have asked this question on many boards but no one can really seem to answer it, also what do I do since my car used saturated injectors and now I am going to peak and hold? are there any special ways of wiring th h22 into a civc, any answers would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance...

Wiring is fairly simple. Just have to keep track of where the sensors are and what part of the harness you are working on and not getting wires mixed up.
With a DX harness, you can take wires and add them to the DX harness to make it work with the H22 into the DX civic.
You will need to:
Change fuel injector connectors to the H22A and add the resistor pack from H22A harness to Civic harness
Extend Alternator wires to reach the H22A alternator
Lengthen wire that goes to the starter solenoid on starter
Attach reverse light sensor wire to the H22A reverse light sensor wire
add wire to VTEC oil pressure sensor for ground (tap into Grn/Wht wire), ECU Signal leading to D6 pin-out on ECU and VTEC solenoid valve to ECU leading to A4 pin-out on ECU
Knock Sensor (mounted at rear of engine near cyl head), add wire to harness to ECU Signal leading to D3 on ECU
Secondary butterflies are optional, but if you want them wired up:
add two wires. Sensor voltage (tap into Yel/Wht wire) and ECU Signal leading to A17 pin-out on ECU
EGR system is a pain in the ***, and on some JDM P13's are not required. you have to add 5 wires:
EGR lift valve solenoid – sensor voltage (tap into Yel/Wht wire) & ECU signal (tap into Red wire from firewall leading to A11 pin-out on ECU)
EGR lift sensor – sensor voltage (tap into Yel/Wht wire), ground (tap into Grn/Wht wire) & ECU Signal (tap into Wht/Blk from firewall leading to D12 pin-out on ECU)
All you REALLY need to ADD, however is VTEC and knock sensor, and switch to h22 fuel injector harnesses.
The rest is just reaching to the new sensors and such.
hope that helps.

I have JDM H22A in 92 EG (CX) will the wiring be the same? I got the engine in and now doing the detail work. Let me get this right, use engine wiring harness from the old 1500CC engine and add additional wires for H22A. Where are you guys getting the shifter and shift cables? Anyone doing AC? It's very hot in Texas in the summer.

for shifter cables and such i got mine with the swap, and i would imagine if you purchased a full engine swap the tranny as well as the shift linkage/shifting assembly should come with it.
as for A/C, it's exactly the same as regular A/C install, only you will need the HCP a/c bracket (which you can purchase from Newman on H-T)

Thanks Poison. I kinda got screwed on the complete swap from EBay. The seller did not give me the shift cables and gave me an Auto tranny ECU. Do you know if an Auto ECU will work with 5-speed tranny? Thanks again

ahh buying motors off ebay is a no no for me.
and the auto ecu will work with a manual tranny but will not run to fullest potential
you will need to have it chipped in order for it to work right
but if you are going to chip it i would suggest purchasing a p28 or p30 and chipping either of those to get rid of egr completely.
good luck
