Wiring questions...any opinions?
Ok, i have a 4th gen civic DX hatch...
I picked my motor today b16a 170hp, YS1 w/lsd tranny, PR3 ECU. with that beeing said here is my question.
I understand that the first gen b16's had milky white connectors.
My connectors are grey... can someone give me some idea on the wiring diffrences (or point me in the right direction) between the two....keep in mind that the car was not wired for mpfi. What should i do first? any help gladly appriceated... pics of the motor are http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290805121 notice on pic 12 im missing the other end of one of the adaptors. there are 7 wires on the grey connecter that im speaking of. any help?

That harness will not work with your car. You will need to modify your DX harness to make this work. What ECU did you get with your swap? You will need to convert your car to MPFI, then add the wires for Vtec, and the get an adapter for OBD0 to OBD1 if you got an OBD1 ECU with your swap. What color are the plugs on your ECU?
This would be the easiest route to take. What are you going to do about the Hydro clutch tranny? Your car is cable clutch, and you'll need some sort of adapter/converter to be able to use that tranny. Hasport are currently working on a motor mount kit to use the hydro trannies in the cable clutch cars.
If you have any more questions, feel free to e-mail me.

what you have is OBDI motor with most likely OBDI ecu. to make it work within your car quite alot of work will be required.
to make it work convert the car to MPFI first. (no need for resistor pack) as you'll be using OBDI injectors. repin the distributor add few other wires. 02 sensor wires will need to be added. VTEC and knock sensor wiring.
to make easier purchase obd0 to obdI harness converter (if the PR3 is OBDI) to make the swap much easier. (hit up built90hatch - check bestbuy forum) otherwise cut off OBDO ecu connectors and solder in OBDI connectors. just check for differences and follow it.
this is where a good manual comes in handy.
you cannot use the JDM harness no matter what as its suited :
1) for OBDI car
2) RHD chassis
3) uses many different connectors.

i got the pr3 ecu...is there a way to tell by the connectors on it if it is intended for obd 0 or obd 1?...one connector is green and the other connector is black on the ecu....

Yes your ECU is OBD0, so it won't even work with your distributor. The distributor is likely OBD1 (if it plugs into the engine wiring harness that came on the motor).
You will also need to decide if you want to stick with OBD0 injectors, or go with OBD1 injectors that are on the engine now. If you decide to go with OBD1 (My suggestion), then you'll just have to add the wires for the extra 2 injectors (part of the DPFI to MPFI conversion).

yeah its non-obd0 so now what you can do is stick with this ecu and get a non-obd dizzy and work with it. this way you'll save your save alot of troubles.
obd0 dizzy is not compatible with anything else. so get one off a 90-1 b16a or get a 90-1 LS one and mod it to fit. injectors can be used longest you don't hook up the resistor box

Stock DX distributor will not work. As eg6ajk mentioned, you can try and get a 1st gen B16 distributor, or get a 1990-1991 LS dist. and mod it to fit (pretty easy).
