Default Wiring an H22a engine

how do you wire a H22a engine in a 1991 honda prelude i was going to use my origanal B21A1 engine wiring but the distributer for the H22a has 7 wires and my B21a has 4 wires and i dont know were they go because it is a JDM motor and has an inner coil and the american motors have an external coil can you just change the distributer or no and where do the V-tec sensors that you have to add go and how do you put knew wires into the computer

best thing to do at this time is just stick to your B21 until you know what you're doing or find someone that can do it for you. seems to me that you don't know the difference between left and right.

well can you take the distributer out of the H22a and put the one from the b22A engine into it cause the JDM motors have an in coil and the american have an external coil and the rest is pretty much the same

I have a jdm h22, and my distributor died. you can modify an external coil to be internal. I can't really walk you though it, and didn't take pics, but it was the first time I ever touched one, and the motor fired right up on the first try when I was done. It's not that bad.

can you take the distributer out of a 1991 B21a engine and put it on the H22a engine and make it external because if I can do that everything will just plug right in

why don't you just get an H22 wiring harness and make a hybrid harness? its not that complicated. just get pinouts for both motors and harnesses, figure out which wire is what, figure out which ones you need, and solder away? get a manual for the 91 lude, there are plenty of wiring diagrams and pinouts for the H22 available online. its probably all available at PO.com.

you noobs expect to have explicit step by step instructions for your specific swap, and then you wonder why people like me don't hold feel like doing the boring part of the work.

have you ever seen an h22a engine in a 1991 prelude you need the engine wiring and the chassy wiring if you were going to do that and its a JDM motor all it come with is the engine wiring you would also have to move the fuse box but if you use the B21A wiring all you have to do is mkae it an external coil and change a couple of harnesses and wiring in a couple of sensors its easier the way I'm doing it cause if you ask anyone that has done this swap they all do it the way I am it stupid to even think about it the other way because you B21 has OBD1 wiring harnesses on it but i was wondering how do you make an interal coil external

you either have to rewire the inside of the distributor, or rewire the engine harness to accomodate the internal coil. Personally I would rewire the engine harness. Otherwise you need to figure out where the wires inside your distributor, that connect to your coil, go. Then you need to extend them and find a way to make a waterproof seal around the spot you will have to cut out of the cap for the wires. take your pick.

could I just take the the distributer off my b21a engine and put it on it would have all the wire the same and the harness would match so would it work?
